Girls Basketball
The St. Senan’s girls basketball team trained immensely for their basketball tournament. First we were taught the basic rules of basketball and we started perfecting our skills. The girl’s tournament was first and we were most fortuitous to have got to the quarter-finals where we were beaten by Moyasta. The score was even for the whole match, both teams played phenomenal. It was a golden basket in the last few seconds of the match that won it for Moyasta. All the girls on our basketball team really improved at basketball from the first practice to the last .The girls were tremendous and they made their school proud.

Boys Basketball
St. Senan’s N.S. Kilrush made it to the boy’s semi-finals. Before that we played against Clohanbeg, Gael Scoil, Cooraclare and Cree. Our trainings were on Mondays and Thursdays after school. Our boy’s team had lots of hard trainings on the lead up to the semi-finals. In training, we learned many skills including lay ups, shooting and zone. We had practice games and also passing drills. We also played friendlies against the Secondary school. The first day of the tournament we won all our games. We beat the Gael Scoil and all the other teams aswell. In the quarter-final we played Cooraclare. We successfully won by seven points. We played Sixmilebridge in the semi-finals in Lissycasey. We were losing badly in the first ¾’s but we came back to be defeated by just three baskets in the end. Sixmilebridge went on to win the final and the tournament. We all enjoyed training and games plus can’t wait until next year.
